that losing weight without "having to have surgery" somehow makes people more superior?
I am so sick of snide little comments from people who have been successful losing weight in other ways that they "did it without surgery."
Well great, good for you! No matter how you lose weight you are successful. Traditional diet and exercise work for a lot of people, they did NOT work for me. I was fighting an uphill battle of PCOS, which changes your hormones & insulin levels such that it makes it near impossible to lose. I also have fibromyalgia which greatly impeeds my ability to exercise regularly without horrific nerve pain. And i admit it, i didn't have the will power to stay on a diet, i was easily discouraged. BUT just because i had surgery doesn't mean that your weight loss is somehow "superior" to mine! Trust me my diet now is 100% harder than any diet i've been on in my life.
Weight loss surgery is a TOOL! It is not a guarantee. It's a tool to weight loss, just like any other weight loss tool, if you don't use it, you will FAIL. If i eat the things i'm not supposed to i will NOT lose weight. I have to stay on a specific diet w/ little leeway. Yes my diet is much more forgiving than many diets because i do not have to watch my fat intake. But I chose this surgery knowing that i could live with the dietary changes.
So PLEASE, those that are reading, get your facts straight, educate yourself on what weight loss surgery really is and know that I am not in some magically induced weight loss that is only the results of surgery, yes for sure the surgery has made this possible, but without my very hard work i wouldn't be successful.
If you are so incredibly insecure that making snide comments about my surgery makes you somehow feel superior and more "successful" than me, well I'm gonna take the high road from now on and feel sorry for you and your insecurities!

24 1/2 lbs lost since surgery!
Overall weight loss from high weight is 32 1/2 lbs!
I know you probably all think, well duh, you had weight loss surgery, why are you shocked. Well truth is like any other "diet" you don't really believe you will succeed. At least I don't. I set myself up for failure, might sound weird but i just don't "count on it" if you know what i mean. Yes I knew i'd lose, did i think it would be this much at first, nope no way! I know that this rate will not continue, and in fact at some point soon i expect to hit a plateau for anywhere from a week to a few weeks because that's just the experience of a lot of WLS (weight loss surgery) patients like me. But we shall see.

Food...i'm so over it...
So starting next weds, my food intake will change dramatically. On weds. i have a clear liquid diet all day, with some antibiotics and some "cleaning agents" added into the mix. So technically I have 7 days of "normal" eating left. You'd think i'd be getting all my favorites right? Going out to eat a lot? Making huge meals? NOPE! I'm so over it! I just have no desire to stuff myself, no desire to eat junk food, no desire for sweets, nothing. I am just OVER IT! Which tells me I'm ready, i'm making the right decision and I will succeed! It's a great feeling :-)
And on another note, I am 100% caffeine free today. I made de-caff coffee this morning. And i've already cut all other caffeine. So today will likely turn miserable later on, and tomorrow i'll probably start the headache. But I'm ready for it, I can do this too!
